On the afternoon of Monday, March 16, the Articulation of the Brazilian Semiarid Region (ASA Brazil) will be honored in a solemn session at the Legislative Assembly of Ceará. The articulation has acted for 20 years for public policies of Coexistence with the Semi-Arid.
In Ceará, ASA works with the Ceará Forum for Life in the Semi-Arid (FCVSA) and involves several entities from all regions of the state.
ASA's actions have strongly developed the culture of prolonged water supply, planting food, preserving Creole seeds, caring for and raising animals and all the elements necessary for life in the Brazilian semiarid region.
The cisterns that accumulate water for small farms, already surpass the 1.3 million mark built, of which 1.1 million are destined for the supply of drinking water for human consumption.
